Road trip to Ithaca, 2003
We had a great trip moving from Grand Junction to Ithaca. We were in separate cars, but we had walkie talkies so that we could stay in contact. On several of the days, the skies were just amazing. We left from Grand Junction and headed North through Wyoming on our way to Minneapolis where we visited Nancy's grandparents. Then, we met up with Nancy's dad and his friends in Duluth, where we saw the Northern Lights for the first time. We took the scenic route up around the north side of Lake Superior and came back into the US at Niagara Falls.

The clouds were amazing right from the beginning. This is leaving Debeque Canyon about 30 minutes from Grand Junction.

The clouds just kept getting better and better.

In Wyoming, we saw the most amazing backlit rain curtain.

A closer view of the curtain.

We visited Nancy's grandparents at their cabin on the St. Croix river.

The northern side of Lake Superior is gorgeous.

I took this picture somewhere in Canada.
